Uehara started playing golf at age 12, turned professional in 2003, and made her way onto the LPGA Tour on her first attempt. Uehara has three professional wins on the JLPGA Tour. In 2016, Uehara made two holes-in-one during the Canadian Pacific Women's Open, tying the LPGA record for most holes-in-one in a single tournament. Uehara works with Okinawa Kuminosato, a retreat center for restoring health to children exposed to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident and/or who still live in contaminated areas.
